I am a mother, wife, and resident of the Northwest. Originally from San Diego, CA my childhood visits to the Puget Sound area taught me the power of place. The beauty of the Northwest and its seasons continues to inspire and feed my spirit. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the garden retail/design industry which then led me in 2004 to open Sacred Spaces, a garden container design and planting consultation business. Gardening continues to play a creative role in my life both professionally and personally.
Before beginning private practice, I worked with individuals, couples, and families at an intensive outpatient clinic in the greater Seattle Area. I was successful in treating a range of issues that included: anxiety, depression, disordered eating, OCD, personality disorders, trauma, grief, transition, relationship issues, and spiritual abuse. I have worked with Seattle’s homeless population providing supportive and group therapy services to individuals suffering from addiction and chronic mental illness. I have also worked in hospice care, providing spiritual and emotional support to those at the end of life and their loved ones.
Training and Degrees
I have a Post-Master’s Certificate in Pastoral Counseling, which is a mental health counseling degree with a specialization in the areas of spirituality and theology. I also have a Master’s of Divinity, which gave me extensive training in the areas of theology and congregational ministry. I am an ordained minister through the American Baptist Churches, U.S.A. Both of these degrees I received from Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University.
